Dear Residents, Denim Day is observed on the last Wednesday of April, which falls on April 24 this year. It’s a day when we stand in solidarity with sexual assault survivors and victims. Patricia Giggans—an American feminist and the executive director of LA’s Commission on Assaults Against Women—designated the last Wednesday of every April as Denim Day. It’s a day to challenge victim-blaming attitudes and advocate for real justice and support for survivors and victims of sexual assault. So, on Denim Day, let’s wear our denim proudly and believe survivors. Together, we can create a world where survivors are heard, supported, and justice prevails.
